Legal ServicesOur Legal Services program is open to all HIV+ clients. We provide services that include: Final Wills, Powers of Attorney (General and Limited), Living Wills, Life-Prolong Procedures Declaration, Appointment of Healthcare Representative, and discrimination issues related to a person's HIV status. In addition to drafting these legal documents, our lawyers represent a limited number of SSI (Supplemental Security Income) and SSDI (Social Security Disability Income) applicants. We can also provide informational materials to help clients understand what they can do to advocate for themselves, and our lawyers are happy to meet with clients to help them understand Social Security and the strategies for a successful application for benefits. These additional services are not covered by Ryan White but are available on a sliding-fee scale.Ryan White clients must have pre-approval from the Ryan White office before services are rendered. Our Care Coordinator will help throughout this process. Non-Ryan White clients can access this service through referrals through their Care Coordinators. Craig Boeck can serve any Ryan White eligible/enrolled client, and Robin Clay can provide services to any HIV+ client for legal issues. Craig Boeck will be at The Damien Center the 2nd and 4th Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 3:00pm. He can also be reached at his office number (317) 652-1391. Robin Clay will be at The Damien Center every Tuesday from 1:00pm - 3:00pm. For more information regarding our legal services, please contact us at 317-632-0123. |
