This month, our biggest food pantry need is hygienic items.

Food Pantry

The Food Pantry's hours are:
  • Monday 10-5
  • Tuesday 10-5
  • Wednesday 11-5
  • Thursday 10-5
  • Friday 10-5
The Damien Center strives to provide an array of food options with better nutritional value for our clients. We service clients of the Damien Center and other AIDS Service Organizations through our referral process; as of now we are re-developing the guidelines of the food pantry to better serve our clients, so please pay close attention for those upcoming details. Currently, clients are approved for pantry use on a case-by-case basis.

In our Client Feedback Survey conducted in November of 2010, we heard the needs of our clients and took action. We found that many of our clients were satisfied with our pantry but were interested in seeing more nutritious food options along with an increase in variety. In addition, clients showed great interest in future nutritional services offered at The Damien Center, like the services of a dietitian or nutrition classes. We have been successful in providing different varieties of foods and canned goods, and we are always working to increase these options and services.

Current Needs

To offer more food options, we ask that donors give hygiene or toiletry items, such as:
  • adult and child diapers
  • bar soap
  • body wash
  • cleaning supplies
  • denture cleaner
  • deodorant
  • dry laundry soap
  • feminine products (pads and tampons)
  • paper towels
  • razors and shaving cream
  • shampoo
  • toilet paper
  • toothpaste and toothbrushes
  • wipes
By donating these items, you allow us to spend more money on food, increasing nutrition and variety for our clients. Of course, food donations are always encouraged and welcome. If you wish to donate food items, please consider the following needs:
  • canned fruits
  • Ensure
  • small snack items
  • soups
  • other nonperishables
