Food Pantry

This month, our biggest food pantry need is hygienic items.

The Food Pantry's hours are:

  • Monday 10-5
  • Tuesday 10-5
  • Wednesday 11-5
  • Thursday 10-5
  • Friday 10-5

The Damien Center strives to provide an array of food options with better nutritional value for our clients. We service clients of the Damien Center and other AIDS Service Organizations through our referral process; as of now we are re-developing the guidelines of the food pantry to better serve our clients, so please pay close attention for those upcoming details. Currently, clients are approved for pantry use on a case-by-case basis.

In our Client Feed-Back Survey conducted in November of 2010, we heard the needs of our clients and took action. We found that many of our clients were satisfied with this service but were interested in seeing more nutritious food options along with an increase in variety. In addition, clients showed great interest in future nutritional services offered at the Damien Center, like the services of a dietitian, nutrition classes, etc. We have been successful in providing different varieties of foods and canned goods, and we are always working to increase these options and services.

To offer more food options, we ask that donors give hygienic items, like toilet paper, feminine products, laundry soap, body soap, and shampoo. By donating these items, we are able to spend more money on food, increasing nutrition and variety. Of course, food donations are always encouraged and welcome.

Please look for more statistics about the Food Pantry in our annual report!
