Take Action

There are many ways you can Take Action at the Damien Center, which include financial, in-kind or volunteer opportunities.

The staff members of the Damien Center are able to make dramatic changes in the lives of our clients thanks to our amazing volunteer force and financial contributors who have supported them over the last 21 years. Currently, we are matching volunteers with the job opportunities that meet the needs of the ever-changing face of HIV. Volunteer at the Damien center to contribute your time.  You can also volunteer at the center or at one of our many exciting events/fundraisers throughout the year like Dining out for Life or Grande Masquerade.

We take donations in our food pantry at any time.  Not only do we need donations of food and personal items but food pantry staff use plastic grocery bags to distribute items to our clients.  Your contributions of new or recycled bags are always appreciated.  The Damien Center does not take donations of items of clothing or furniture.

If you would like to make a financial contribution to help the Damien Center in its mission we have a number of opportunities available.  We offer four active donor levels and a variety of sponsorship opportunities. We will work to help you find a giving and recognition level to meet your personal and professional needs.  You can also Donate to the Damien Center on our secure site and even choose the direction you would like your donation to go.

Center Support Opportunities

Join One of Our Annual Giving Societies

Buy a Memorial Brick
Help us fund our new building facilities maintenance fund by purchasing a Memorial Brick.

Contribute to our Client Tranportation Fund
Considering that nearly 70% of our clients live at or below the federal poverty income level, they simply lack the means to access these services. When our clients cannot make these appointments, they do not receive the proper care necessary for successful management of their health.  This is such a simple problem to fix, but one that can have severe consequences if not addressed.

Donate Food or Money to our Food Pantry
The food pantry relies on the generosity of people just like you to keep it running.  We depend not only on your in-kind contributions of items such as food and toiletries, but on monetary donations as well to continue to serve our clients.

Support our Fortune-Blakley Client Enrichment Center
In an effort to keep our clients and those affected by this disease connected, updated, and supported, the Damien Center offers many enrichment and support groups.

Join our Volunteer Force
The staff members of the Damien Center are able to do their jobs well thanks to our amazing volunteer force. Currently, we are matching volunteers with the job opportunities that meet the needs of the ever-changing face of HIV.

Planned Giving   Planned gifts provide an opportunity to have a positive, lasting impact on our community. Like any successful endeavor, they require careful thought and analysis.  If you would like to discuss Planned Giving options, please call Elisa Rogowski at 317-632-0123 extension 269 for more information.

Make a Donation in Support of our Joseph F. Miller Testing Center
Taking control of your health and status is your responsibility if you are sexually active.

Donate to Our Efroymson Client Services Assurance Fund

The Center's Client Services Assurance Fund, born from the Center's capital campaign efforts, was started by the financial generosity of the Efroymson Fund.  This restricted and board monitored Fund allows Damien Center programs to be safeguarded against future potential Federal, Indiana State, and Marion County budget cuts.  If this occurs, money will be used from this Fund to supplement the associated costs, so that programs can continue for our community and our clients uninterrupted.

The Marlin Jon Moman Living Memorial Prevention Fund

The Damien Center is pleased to announce a Fund created by the family and friends of Marlin J. Moman who died of AIDS-related causes in 1994. Marlin was a client at the Center, and the family was greatly assisted by the support from the Damien Center through prayers, support groups, new friends, and a memorial service. J. David Moman, Marlin's brother, is an employee of the Center and has been for over five years.
