Dining Out For Life Ambassadors

What you'll do: Volunteers will promote the Dining Out For Life event and encourage diners to attend your assigned restaurant. You'll also serve as an ambassador at your assigned restaurant the night of the event. Note that there will be a special Ambassador Training to prepare for this event.
Shifts available: 3-4 hour shift on the event day (the last Thursday of April) for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, depending on the restaurant.

Grande Masquerade

What you'll do: Join us for one of the most fun volunteering opportunities in the city! You'll work with other volunteers in a variety of roles to help staff our largest fundraising event of the year. Roles vary from volunteer photographer, VIP security, ushers and greeters, drink runners and more!
Shifts available: There will be on mandatory training session ahead of the event. The shifts on the day of the event will vary by role.

Food Pantry Assistance

What you'll do: You'll work with other volunteers and staff to clean, organize, and stock the pantry as well as preparing and distributing pre-bagged orders for clients.
Shifts available: Regular weekly shifts are available: 

  • Monday, 10:00am-5:00pm
  • Tuesday, 10:00am-5:00pm
  • Wednesday, 11:00am-5:00pm
  • Thursday, 10:00am-5:00pm
  • Friday, 10:00am-3:00pm

We also have the occasional need for stocking assistance when a large shipment arrives.

Office Administrative Needs

What you'll do: Assist with administrative needs of various departments in the Center – i.e. copies, paperwork, database entry, phone calls, folding letters, stuffing envelopes, etc.
Shifts available: Shifts vary according to need.

Health Fairs

What you'll do: Work with staff members and other volunteers to manage Damien Center's information booths at the various health and community fairs.
Shifts available: 2-4 hour shifts as needed, most fairs occur May-September.
