Our country stands at a crossroads. We are witnessing the results of generations of racial injustice, and we must all face the difficult reality that racial inequity runs deep in our veins and healing will be a long road.
The Damien Center will actively advocate against systemic racism and the historic oppression of the Black community and will continue to work towards eliminating racial injustice. We know that when members of our community hurt, we all hurt.
We are inspired by so many in our community who are using their voices to make change. We see you, we are with you, and we support you. We recognize that silence is complicit, and our voice will be heard. We seek to create one home in which we all can live.
To our clients, friends, and community: we are here to listen, support, and serve as a safe house for people facing adversity. We are committed to a positive transformation. We are at a crossroads, and the path to justice is clear.
